Jack Flint Unveils Rock Ode To Beauty In Decay With Solo Single Dirty Road
Jack Flint, the prolific singer/songwriter/guitarist known for his work with Sea Gods steps into the spotlight with his solo single Dirty Road, set for release on November 7th, 2025. This rock anthem, a departure from his band’s upbeat sound, dives deep into the rapture found in emotional extremes and the haunting beauty mirrored in nature’s decay.
Born in Bolton, raised in Derbyshire, and now calling Lancashire home after stints in London, Jack Flint has been a fixture in the UK and European music scenes. From picking up a guitar at age 9 to playing the main stage at the Isle of Wight Festival with a former band, Flint’s journey is one of relentless creativity. His recent Sea Gods singles, Are you here now?, Tell Me, and Black Ghost, earned critical acclaim and radio play, with Flint handling all instruments except drums, played by longtime collaborator Carl Donoghue.
Dirty Road is a deeply personal solo project, rooted in Flint’s belief that everyone shares the experience of finding beauty in decay and rapture in extremes of emotion, whether positive or negative. Recorded in 2023 at The Grand Studios in Clitheroe, Lancashire, Flint played all guitars, bass, and delivered vocals and lyrics, with Carl Donoghue on drums. Produced by Joshua Haworth and mastered by Dave Draper, the track channels old-school organic rock through Gretsch and Gibson guitars, including a battle-scarred Gibson Firebird rescued from a house fire that nearly cost Flint his arm. Powered by vintage Vox AC30 valve amps, the song’s atmospheric, guitar-driven sound marks a wider, moodier slant while staying true to Flint’s alternative rock roots.
The track’s origins trace back years, performed in stripped-back forms before Flint committed it to tape. It reflects his obsession with guitars sparked at age 5 by TV bands and fueled by influences like The Clash, The Rolling Stones, The Damned, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Libertines, Oasis, Idles, The Verve and Black Sabbath. A natural multi-instrumentalist with a master’s in art from Wimbledon Art School, Flint’s instinct for original material sets him apart. The fire that damaged his prized Firebird, bought from a Doncaster shop later revealed as Yungblud’s family business, reshaped his perspective, infusing his music with raw resilience
