Anomic

Presents
Opacity (Official Lyric Video)

The track is taken from Opacity EP , due for release on 22 November 2024 via Epictronic

After leaving the German thrash metal band War Agenda in August 2023, Raaf launched his new thrash/death metal project, Anomic, in September 2023, composing three tracks that became their debut EP, Opacity. Raaf aimed to blend a wide range of thrash and death metal influences into Anomic’s sound. Once the music and lyrics were written, he recruited bassist and second vocalist Fadi Massamiri, who also mixed and mastered the EP. Raaf then hired drummer Krzysztof Klingbein (Vader, Belphegor, Hate) for session drums. The EP’s three songs explore themes of conformity, war, madness, and apocalypse.

Prepare to be pummeled by pure sonic devastation! Rising Thrash/Death Metal act Anomic has signed with Wormholedeath Records for the reissue of their debut EP, “Opacity” set to be re-released on November 22nd, 2024.

An Unstoppable Force Finds Its Home

Anomic is a force to be reckoned with. Founded by Dutch/Syrian guitarist and vocalist Raafat “Raaf” Atasi, the band blends the fury of Thrash with the unrelenting brutality of Death Metal, creating a sound that is both punishing and addictive. After leaving the German thrash outfit War Agenda in August 2023, Raaf wasted no time channeling his creative fire into Anomic. He channeled a multitude of influences, resulting in the band’s debut EP, “Opacity”. This 3-track sonic assault tackles existential themes like conformity, war, insanity, and the very apocalypse itself.

Joining Forces for a Crushing Future

Raaf wasn’t alone in this sonic crusade. He enlisted his old friend Fadi Massamiri to join the band as bassist and second vocalist, with Fadi also taking the reins on mixing and mastering “Opacity”. To solidify their rhythm section, the band recruited the legendary Krzysztof Klingbein (live drummer for Vader, Belphegor, and Hate) to lay down the punishing drum tracks on the EP. Additionally, the monstrous vocals of Stefan Nordström guest star on the track “On Deaf Ears”, add an extra layer of malevolent fury.

Anomic’s signing with Wormholedeath Records marks a pivotal moment in the band’s journey. In a statement, the band expressed their excitement:

“We are stoked to announce that AnomiC is now a member of the WormHoleDeath family. Our EP ‘Opacity’ will be released and distributed this year (2024) digitally by WHD worldwide. This is an important chapter in the band’s journey, and we wanna thank the spectacular label owner Carlo Bellotti and his team Carla Predan and Natascia Pribac for this great opportunity to spread our music properly, and with a great label that is a home to so many killer bands signed to their roster. Moreover, our first full-length, which is to be released in 2025, will also be released and distributed with WHD. So, we’re looking forward to this great collaboration and can’t wait to share plans with you all. Stay metal m/”

Brace yourselves, metal maniacs! Anomic is here to demolish everything in their path. Stay tuned for more news and prepare to be crushed by “Opacity” on December 6th, 2024!
