PD: What type of artist are you?
VV: Hi Pete, from my part I am a pluri-artist: dancing between music painting writing and fashion design. To summarise I simply express ideas and inspirations through different ways.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
VV: Good question. I am just a human born between music and art with a lot of creativity inside my heart and soul to express and share.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
VV: So Depending of the mood. I like to discover bands but it s more about the quality of the sound. It has to make me vibrating, it has to be alive, breathing and sweating the artist’s soul. So today I would say Jim Morrison, Ozzy Osbourn, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jack White.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
VV: Being the expression of music and art.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
VV: Who? God? I can say , I am writing it but I am simply a translator of the World. I remember of a fan who told me when we did our East of Europe tour this summer. “You, you know how to tell/narrate a story” I smiled “You know before being a singer I am a poet”. I am just “a raconteur” of the Universe and you will find pieces of it on this first double VAYA album.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
VV: So for sure the best way to do it is the scene! Be in contact with the public directly is the right way for sharing and
catching the present moment together. People feel your energy as a real high and intensive lightning. Some are silent, the other one are crying, smiling or dancing, thankful and finally heart to heart some of them I just take them as child in my arms. The best way is just to be sincere with what you are giving to people. This powerful energy people can find it on the second part of the double VAYA album: a live concert recorded on studio.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
VV: I am not a part of it. It is why VAYA isn’t sold online. We are missing something sacred. The sound is impoverished by this new way of consumption.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
VV: I don’t know because I like the songs I am writing day by day.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
VV: My ownself?
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
VV: When people smile.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
VV: I just moved in Toronto, Canada. I like how this city is vibrating. Also because the essence of VAYA is ameridian rock (so influences of north American spirit) it was an evidence to continue the process of this project here. The second opus ( album) is on the wayJ
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
VV: So we are planning to do our next tour between Canada and USA in Spring. It will be strong and powerful. If you want to discover a new music religion so come with us for dancing around the fire with our wolfpack: you are welcome;)
