Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
TN: Alt rock with a touch of electronic/physcodelic/pop
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
TN: We are a mishmash of school friends, city freaks and marketplace musicians for free. Or at least that’s how we’ve ended up. Paul, Josh and Nick started the band a few years back and started combing through merseyside for the right drummer and bass player (there’s been a few like any good band)
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
TN: the musical influences range from everything classical to everything prog. Paul and Josh are bang into their 70s prog while Adam and Graham, not so deep down love 2000s emo music. Outside of music, Pauls favourite actor is Joaquin Phoenix while Jake loves the art of Picasso
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
TN: The main goal this year and next is to grow our own organic fan base, get some tours under our belts and put out our first record – nick
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
TN: Paul writes about his previous relationships with people and his dealings with alcohol and the effect it has on mental health
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
TN: Instagram is our main way of getting the band out. It’s become a really powerful tool for interacting with fans but also building relationships with other bands. We still use Facebook and Twitter etc but Instagram is our go to. Post socials distancing restriction we hope our live show will be our main Avenue for promotion.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
TN: All for it. You can discover a lot of great new music via streaming platforms. But if you truly support the artist you should buy a physical copy. – Josh
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
TN: When you sleep by my bloody Valentine – it sounds sick and it’s my favourite melody of all time! – Adam
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
TN: People who walk slow right in front of you, on their phone and walking all squint when I’m walking in an arrow straight line. AM I SUPPOSED TO COME TO A HAULT?? IM 6’ 6”!!!! ILL FALL ON YOU AND HURT YOU!! DO YOU WANT THAT???. – Paul
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
TN: Writing closer. It was a real evolution in my song writing and our band. Or at our first show (before we were Turquoise Noise) the whole venue sang our first single “I love the way” back to us. A very special moment. – Paul
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
TN: We are currently laying out or release plan for the rest of the year with 3 tracks we recorded last year and will be recording another 4/5 tracks this year for release next year! – Josh
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
TN: Our new single Closer is available on all streaming platforms so you can hear it there!
