They Might Be Zombies – Interview
Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
TMBZ: I’m a passionate artist. A dedicated artist. I do it for the emotional and dare I say, spiritual fulfilment and definitely not for the money (or else i would’ve stopped long ago)
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
TMBZ: I was born in Miami in 1990 to a very caring and culturally diverse family. Had a normal life, dedicating much of my early life to martial arts. My first creative love was visual art, then I shifted to theater, and then finally at 15 years of age i picked up the drums and my life was changed from that moment on.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
TMBZ: My musical influences are vast. As far as drums go, my main inspiration is Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan from Avenged Sevenfold. Not only was he a brilliant and technical drummer, he was a fantastic composer, singer and lyricist. When he died, his band was changed forever. That’s the kind of Mark I want to leave.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
TMBZ: My dream and ultimate goal is to simply be able to dedicate my entire life to playing music and to be able to travel and pay my bills with it.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
TMBZ: Im a new addition to the band. The composition credits all go to Ewar and Jay. Memorable, face melting riffs, introspective and profound lyrics… stuff I’m all about! Music is supposed to have a certain depth, and their music has it.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
TMBZ: Facebook, word of mouth etc. All we can do is get them to get a glimpse so they get hooked and stick around.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
TMBZ: It’s inevitable. Also it’s almost obsolete. Everyone is streaming and there’s no way around it.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
TMBZ: Brain Damage/Eclipse by Pink Floyd (or almost anything by them) to me that is one of the best examples of a truly perfect composition in all aspects. a magical piece.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
TMBZ: Controlling egomaniacs. Restrictive musicians. I think rock n roll is about freedom. And even if one person is behind all the music, they still need other people. It’s a BAND at the end of the day.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
TMBZ: I guess my proudest moment in music is being in a band that got signed by Dave Ellefson lol.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
TMBZ: Right now im working on getting evry song of REANIMATE pefect to the T so we can get out there and melt faces ASAP
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
TMBZ: CORONA VIRUS ! aint no shows foreseen just yet. Unfortunately
