The Two Percent
The Two Percent are a band rising from the ashes of misfortune. A band funding themselves completely out of their own pockets. A band determined to take anything head on. Born from a misguided attempt to save a previous band, The Two Percent had its foundation in the small town of Maple Lake, MN during the last week of August 2015. The band charted into foreign territory as Erik Paumen, who had been a designated bassist, now played both bass and guitar at the same time with a complicated plethora of technology. All while Parker McCarty, who had been at the receiving end of countless drummer jokes, had taken the position of lead vocalist and percussionist.
The Two Percent is a love child of Blues and Harder Rock, taking aspects from both sides and creating something new. Inspired by the works of great bluesmen such as Robert Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins, and John Lee Hooker yet still keeping in touch with more modern sounds. In its time, The Two Percent has taken its beaten up van to Chicago and St. Louis on makeshift tours making absolutely no money but losing not an ounce of aspiration. Now with an album recorded in the heart of Chicago, this band has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
