Stitchfork – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (

PD: What type of artist are you?

S: We are a stoner metal band from The Hague in the Lowlands (the real Lowlands, not the Scottish counterpart of the Highlands 😉 )

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.

S: We are the spawn of the intergalactic mating of the Stoner Gods and the Metal Gods, clearly there was a need for Mean Muggin’ Metal. Our sole mission is to get people mean muggin’.

Every metalhead will know that one feeling when listening to some drilling guitar riff on a stompin’ beat while pulling down the corners of your mouth, sticking out your chin and nodding your head to the groove. Looking over to your friends, with that understanding eye-contact and seeing them doing the same without saying a word, THAT’ moment is exactly what we are aiming for with our music. All our writing needs to have that specific element.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

S: Nothingface, Slipknot, Kyuss, Pantera, Down, Mr. Bungle and of course many more. Stitchfork needs Drop C, pinchnotes, bends and slides, thumping beats and overall rock and roll will get us motivated to create a sound capturing all of the elements we love.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

S: Everybody love everybody! And of course we want everyone to get hold of our kick ass debut EP, play it in their cars, and play those intro’s over and over again. Our future goal is to have our full album out and make it all killer no filler!

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

S: WE write the music and typically the lyrics come to RJ as the song progresses Often starting with one line or a melody for the chorus. We don’t shy away from the hard stuff, mostly dealing with the human condition and its darker sides. Anyone picking up any kind of messaging is absolutely right, you hear what you want to hear 😉

We love to find out from people what they think of our songs and how they feel when listening to it; we’re getting quite a few f-qing hards and fuck yeahs so we’re happy that people dig what we’re doing 🙂

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

S: Mouth to mouth; when one guy puts up a mean muggin’ face while hearing one of our kickass riffs, chances are that the person next to him will catch the mean muggin’ virus.

With Covid there are no shows of course and we have Mike de Coene helping us out with the promotion through various outlets.

On social media we are starting to make a few ripples as well so anyone that could actually help out with distro that is something we are on the lookout for.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

S: It’s a Catch 22, if you’re big you’re making a few millions less, if you’re small you have more outreach but still lint in your pockets 😉

PD: What song do you wish you had written and why?

S: We’re still searching for this song and obviously it will come down to us to write it!

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

S: Guys fisting nuts in airplanes, I’ve adopted this pet peeve but the visual is already disturbing. Emptying a bag in their hand, then closing the hand in a fist while leaving a little hole open on the top. Then violently shaking the fist until one peanut slips out in the hole and throwing that one in the mouth, This repeats over and over and is really scarring for the eyes.

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

S: When our moms came to our shows, and on a personal note (RJ) to all those young kids playing their first little shows, finding it embarrassing that your parents show up? Don’t be a douchebag, your parents are your biggest fans.  I wish I had seen it like that myself.

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

S: A full length album, ALL killer and NO filler, mean muggen’ heaven, high-octane, stomping’ bruisers of songs that will probably get some people in trouble with the law.

PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?

S: We’re on all the streaming platforms, the major ones like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and all the obscure ones from all over the world and you can order our staple of stoner metal by reaching out to us via social media! Stitchforband on Facebook, stitchfork_metal on Instagram or via email:!

We hand sign each copy of our CD ‘Live Lies, Truth Dies’ and thank you for remembering us when our full lenght is coming out. It will be loud and you will want more of it 😀

Love hearing from people and always appreciate anyone reaching out!
