After 30+ features across press and local radio with “Reaction,” Silvertone Hills return with “Upside Down,” a riff-driven indie-rock stomper designed to give hope to the future.
Upside Down provides a beaming optimism for the future, at a time when drastic world events have caused extreme uncertainty. The riff echoes the feel-good college rock of The Strokes, with an energy akin to local pop stars Arkells. The lyrics capture the spark and optimism of a new affair that in the beholder’s eyes, is undeniably better than the status quo. “Turn my life upside down, I’ve never seen your face ‘til now, tell me are you new in town, and show me what you’re on about” Catching a glimpse of this promising new future is all the convincing the subject needs, and the same could be said for the current state of affairs.
Debuting July 10th, the track was recorded at RHC Music, Toronto with producer Ross Citrullo (The Sheepdogs) along with the previously successful single, “Reaction.” Silvertone Hills aim to continue this wave of energetic singles throughout 2020, with another planned release in fall. Continuous content such as acoustic performances can be found on their social media, and the band intends to tour across major Canadian markets when restrictions are lifted.
Silvertone Hills are an indie-rock group from Hamilton, Ontario. The band’s sound fuses memorable melodies with jangling guitars and energetic grooves. Their sound is one influenced by pop-rock greats of the late 60’s, while turning up the aggression and sonic textures alike modern indie and alternative giants.
To date, the band has released two EPs, Follow Suit (Spring 2018) and Running in Circles (Fall 2019). Show dates have included notable GTA venues such as The Horseshoe, Mills Hardware, Lee’s Palace and Warehouse, as well as stops in Montreal and Kingston. They are currently recording two singles with producer Ross Citrullo at RHC Music, Toronto (The Sheepdogs) set to release in Spring. Silvertone Hills are eager to hit the road in 2020, showcasing their music across major Canadian markets from Spring to Fall, with Summer festival stops. With the planned release of their punchiest music to date and touring an energetic live show, the band is gearing up for a prosperous year.
