CARDIFF PUNKS SHLUG
RELEASE DEBUT SINGLE
THE SCENT OF ROY KEANE
28 May 2021
Cardiff punk trio SHLUG are pleased to announce the release of their debut single ‘The Scent Of Roy Keane’.
Commenting on the track, vocalist Ellis Acton-Dyer said: “Written in a point of adolescence, ‘The Scent Of Roy Keane’ tackles masculinity along with the question – what really turns a boy into a man? Is it through protein shakes? Or is it by pissing all over the seat? Either way, you decide. Just get the conversation going.”
Comprised of band members and long-term friends Ethan Poole, Francis James and Ellis, ‘The Scent Of Roy Keane’ is a notable debut single packed full of raw punk qualities and scintillating lyrics.
“SHLUG was created as a way of making myself feel better.” – proclaims Ellis. “I was in a pretty shit place where I was constantly feeling sorry for myself, and I needed something where I could channel all that anger, emotion and thought into, but most of all, I just wanted something which I could be honest with.”
‘The Scent Of Roy Keane’ is out now via Disobedient Records. Listen here: https://shlug.lnk.to/thescentofroykeane.
