She, Robot
She, Robot (Suzy Condrad) is an award-winning live looping solo artist who has played her one-woman show at festivals throughout the UK and alongside the likes of Neville Staple of the Specials, The Vapors, Fuzzbox and many more.
This latest single marks a departure from She, Robot’s usual style, as it is a collaboration with Mark Refoy (Spiritualized / Spacemen 3) and Simon Wolstencroft, drummer in early incarnations of The Stone Roses and The Smiths and long-term member of The Fall, with award-winning mixer Pete Gleadall.
‘Obsessed With You’ is a new version of the classic punk song by X-Ray Spex, reimagined under the auspices of producer Mike Bennett, who has worked with the likes of The Fall, Ian Brown, The Specials and currently Fat White Family.
Fresh from a UK tour supporting HENGE, She, Robot is due to release an album very soon, from which this unique tribute to the late, great Poly Styrene will be the first single.
