Shadowboard
With echoes of the early 90s Melbourne indie pop scene, Shadowboard are genre crossovers. Traversing energised rock through to a gentler folk-inspired leaning, the lyrics relate stories of the human condition within a strong musical frame. Soft and haunting vocals are counterpoint to at times driving rhythms, and memorable riffs.
Shadowboard formed in a Melbourne backyard studio with a love of varying genres. Songwriting with an emphasis on style variety and honest, heartfelt lyrics resulted in the 2016 EP “Outlines”. The first single, Storyteller, spent four weeks on the Triple J Unearthed Charts. The second, Ink, remained at number one on the Triple J Unearthed Blues & Roots chart for three weeks in Sept 2016. These and other tracks were accepted onto AMRAP AirIt in August 2016, and has achieved airplay on Triple R, Triple H, Southern FM and internet radio stations in the U.K., U.S. and Australia.
