Rozu – Interview

Rozu – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (

PD: What type of artist are you?

R: We are a Post Hardcore band.

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.

R: We are from Denver Colorado to start off. All of us came together back in January of 2018 so just hit the year mark, we all just wanted to start a band where we are all on the same page and driving forward at all times. Our goal was just to write a bunch of music right off the bat before doing anything and just release a little bit of music every few months and hit the road.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

R: We draw inspiration from all art and life experiences, we really are a ‘let’s write how we feel today” kind of band. Our musical influences are Underoath, Every Time I Die, Saosin, Taking Back Sunday, and Chiodos.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

R: Well now the full US tour of Warped Tour is done our dream is to play one of the festival stops they will be doing or SouthbySoWhat would be a dream. Our primary goal is to just continue to write and release great content and start hitting the road more.

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

R: We all kind of write our songs along with our good friend and producer Tyler Ruehl. I (Tim) do a lot of the lyrical writing and talks about a lot of his previous experiences or low moments while putting a positive message behind it.

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

R: We really utilize Instagram for social marketing, while also staying very present in our scene supporting others at their shows.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

R: With streaming we find it to be a blessing to help our music reach to places without blindly touring. It is a tool to realize where we have a decent market in and be able to plan tours that could have better turnouts.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

R: Any Underoath song because they are the living legends

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

R: Biggest pet peeve is the bands that are complete assholes to the venues and their staff. We are all human and no one man is better than the other.

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

R: I’d have to say just being able to have toured as much as I have, it literally is the greatest experience you could ever have in this world.

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

R: Currently we are just writing even more music and prepping for our debut run of shows to take place later this month.

PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.

R: We are playing our hometown January 18th and planning some tours we can’t quite spill the beans on yet. We have been prepping our show for months now and it really is going to be full of energy and other cool things!
