Redeye Caravan – Interview
Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
RC: Howdy Pete! We hope you ‘re doing great and thank you for this interview! We are a dark country band from Greece.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
RC: During the Autumn of 2018, Akis and Valantis got together, exchanged their ideas and then went to Panos, who was fascinated by this project and everything started to come into place – music, lyrics and orchestration! Eleni, Stefanos, Thanos and Paris completed the team and today our Caravan consists of 7 people.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
RC: Our Caravan consists of 7 members… Every single member has his own favourite music and his own history. So, naturally, the range of our influences is far too long! Stories are the main influence for the Caravan.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
RC: Our main goal is to continue sharing our stories with all the folks that want to listen. Make more records, videos and, of course, share our songs live as much as possible.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
RC: The way of composing and completing our tracks is a unique process, as it is done in three main stages: Akis will bring the music and the vocal lines, Valantis will inspire accordingly the verses on which the atmosphere will be based, which will be orchestrated by Panos! Then Helen, Stefanos, Thanos and Paris will give their best to shape exactly what you hear. Just like a building is built … idea, design, materials, construction and finally decoration to reflect the atmosphere. We all do our work in Caravan, we all serve it!
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
RC: We are currently working on our live performances and when everything is as we imagine it, we ‘ll get out there to share our stories with everyone that would like to listen to them and take a trip to places long gone, filled with darkness.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
RC: Downloading music is a great way to find new stuff and listen to everything by just one click. Of course, supporting the artists that you like is also important… Support them by buying their music online or in a physical form and… be there when they perform live!
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
RC: That was the toughest question so far. haha! It would probably be one of the songs that we are fond of, like “Ballad for Beezelbub” by Graveyard Train or one of Ennio Morricone’s creations.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
RC: Any difficulty that comes our way is something that we embrace, so we can get the experience to move further in our storytelling! After all, the Caravans are no strangers to finding problems on their way!
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
RC: Well, our Caravan is somewhat new in the world, thus we all agree that finishing the recordings of our upcoming album is a great moment for us!
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
RC: We are currently shooting our second video clip that will be soon released!
PD: Tell us about your shows and why we should be there.
RC: Our shows are our way to make the Caravan even bigger! You should be there, because you wouldn’t want to miss a journey to otherworldly places and hear the stories of the dead!
