Sydney’s Industrial-Metal Heavyweights Release Their Virtuosic EP ‘As Above So Below’

Sydney-based Industrial Metal Heavyweights Our Last Enemy have just dropped their virtuosic new EP ‘As Above So Below’ via Octane Records. ‘As Above So Below’ highlights a more sophisticated side of Our Last Enemy with sonically diverse layers underpinned by the band’s signature merciless soundscape.

This high-impact audible manifesto takes the listener through a spectrum of sonic assault ranging from pensive riffs, moody guitar-picked passage, tense rising pulses of synths, crushing distorted guitars, infectiously catchy melodies, superbly right drum and bass grooves and cinematic multi-dimensional orchestral layers complete with dark elements of industrial metal and goth rock. ‘As Above So Below’ is a sophisticated and complex release with commendable dynamic sensibilities reminiscent of great heavy bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Korn, Machine Head and Fear Factory.

Our Last Enemy on the new release “This record represents a tumultuous time of upheaval and setbacks for the band, but also a harnessing of those struggles to create some powerful music. As Above, So Below represents the band coming out the other side stronger and more ready than ever for the apocalypse! …and there’s more to come. We had a very strong vision of what this release would be from the start. I think anyone who hears this release and knows our back catalogue will probably agree that we traversed staying true to our core sound, and experimentation pretty well. There are some artistic, cinematic parts and then there’s also some smash-your-friend-in-the-face because-the-riff-is-lit parts too. That can be very difficult for bands”

Following a successful release of their debut album ‘Fallen Empires’ which reached #1 on the iTunes Metal charts, Our Last Enemy have shared stages with Static X, Dope, Combichrist, Perturbator, Prong, Mnemic, Soil, Pain, Hanzel Und Gretyl and Fozzy, as well as having their music remixed by various artists including Divine Heresy, Mortiis, Dope, and The Berzerker, the band has irrefutably made their mark on the international scene. With the release of ‘As Above So Below’, this is Our Last Enemy thriving in their prime: Mature, Sophisticated, and Deliberate.
