Not Your Heroes
Not Your Heroes is an Indianapolis-based solo project that was started in 2016 by Nicholas Shook.
Since 2016, the music has evolved from a punk rock-emo sound to a synth-infused alternative rock sound. The self titled album released in 2018 is all about working a job you absolutely despise and how to deal with it. The 2018 single “Bombs Away” was written along those same lines but was more of a look at the world in general and that you can’t worry about stuff out of your control.
Nicholas played his first solo set in Dayton OH the week before Christmas and kicked off 2019 by releasing the new single “Can You Feel My Heart Beating?” which is about asking the ones you love the most to not give up on you.
