Why this name?
It is a variation on the name of a red run I particularly enjoyed in the French ski resort of Les Arcs. It doesn’t mean anything. It just looks nice.
I am the band. I began playing many years ago while at Leeds University, where I met the illustrious and very brilliant John Dunford, and later played occasionally in local pubs and other venues with my long-time friend Ian Bocock, RIP, and others, under the name of Final Daze, and subsequently The Things That Go Like That. For the last few years I have been a one-man band, writing and recording my own material.
Many influences, including Tom Waits and Prefab Sprout. I have a great respect for Paddy McAloon as a singer/songwriter. Not forgetting Bowie, Alice Cooper, Crowded House, Del Amitri, and many others.
