Little Triggers – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (

PD: What type of artist are you?

LT: We are a young Rock band but wouldn’t pigeonhole ourselves in any particular sub-genre.

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.

LT: Tom formed the band in Liverpool when he came to study music. After a few line up changes we are now a two piece. We’ve toured France three times and released our debut album last year.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

LT: The Beatles, Steve Marriott, Nirvana (our drummer’s favourite band),Chuck Berry, Howlin Wolf and Stevie Ray Vaughan. The non-musical person to have influenced us most over the past few years has been Jeremy Corbyn, sadly no longer leader ofv the Labour Party.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

LT: We just want to be a working Rock n Roll band that is able to tour and make records. This isn’t a pathway to riches any more.

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

LT: Tom writes the songs and more often than not they are about an emotion he has felt strongly at some point. The despair at losing someone you love or the anger finding out you have been cheated on.

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

LT: Obviously the dreaded social media. For our music then Spotify is the main channel. We use Facebook to interact with fans and promote our gigs, music and merch.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

LT: It doesn’t matter what we think, it’s here to to stay and has transformed the way people consume music.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

LT: Just about any Lennon/McCartney song. What they achieved over the years writing together and apart is some of the very best popular music of the last 60 years.

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

LT: Jay doesn’t like drivers who don’t indicate before pulling out! Tom hate those people who dodge paying for a round of drinks.

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

LT: It has to be when we played the Lavoir Electrique festival in France a couple of years ago. The crowd just went crazy. we had girls onstage dancing, guys stage diving and a mass stage invasion at the encore.

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

LT: We have a new single out on 21st August so we are busy promoting that. We will be back in the studio in September to record a couple more singles leading to an EP at the end of the year.

PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?

LT: We have our album Loaded Gun and the two singles since then, Bang and Burn, all on the major online channels such as Spotify, amazon and ITunes. You can even but Burn on Chinese platforms.
