In January 2021 sludge metal band La Nausée released their first single ‘SPLIT’, accompanied by a lyric video.
Here are the first reactions in the media on the release of ‘SPLIT’:
– A rip-roaring debut single of powerful sludge metal with foreboding lyrics. Excellent. @Mr.weirdbeard – MORE FUZZ
– A hard hitting, heavy track that’s relentless for 2 minutes straight. Go check it out and support where you can! – @DOOMBOX_METAL
La Nausée on the song ‘SPLIT’:
‘This song is about where we can place ourselves in this world, in this life. The force of nature is unparalleled. The mind is too small to grasp the whole picture. Essence precedes existence, but not for us. We are to decide our state of being and make ourselves whole.’
‘For this song we teamed up with Stef Exelmans to do the mix and master and we really like the result. He did an awesome job in the past recording the latest TURPENTINE VALLEY and BEAR albums and we knew immediately that he was the man we wanted to work with.’
‘The artwork was made by Kacper Gilka Art who is an amazingly talented illustrator from Poland and we love his work and felt a connection between the song and the art so that was an easy choice.’
La Nausée is a new sludge metal project hailing from Ghent, Belgium. Inspired by Belgian bands like STAKE, DRUMS ARE FOR PARADES and RAKETKANON, who regularly played hometown Ghent, but also influenced by international acts IRON MONKEY, BLACK TUSK and DEFTONES a heavy and dirty guitar sound is being driven by distorted vocals. The drums are all over the place, pushing the songs forward relentlessly with frequent tempo changes.
-The song SPLIT will be featured on the 21st edition of the ‘Face Your Underground’ metal compilation CD later this year.
-A spot on the third edition of the ‘Sounds Of Hell’ compilation CD has been reserved for the second single.
-In Spring 2021 the full EP will be released.
