Krantz – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (

PD: What type of artist are you?

K: Artist of Rock and Roll! I’m bringing it back baby!

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.

K: Born and raised in the fields of Iowa. Discovered the Beatles and guitar when I was 12, and the rest is history. Now living in Music City USA trying to change the world.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

K: The Beatles are def my number one guns influence wise musically.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

K:To be the biggest band in the world would be rad…but this world ain’t what it used to be, so I’ll be happy with just being able to be successful enough to just do Krantz full time.

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

K: I write em and they’re about many things. I’m a bit of a romantic I must admit, so the majority of em are about women that have been in my life. A few about my cats…some about past experiences…just give em a listen.

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

K: Social media of course is what I spend the most time with, but we do the old school traditional things like hang posters and such…

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

K: Well, to be honest, it helps and hurts me at the same time. Of course I have to appreciate how easy it is to release new music, but that means it’s also incredibly easy for everyone else, so everything is just so oversaturated these days.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

K: “To Love Somebody” by the Bee Gees because I just heard it on a commercial, and forgot that that’s a damn damn good song.

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

K: Slow drivers and egos.

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

K: Probably releasing the very first Krantz (self titled) album in October of 2016.

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

K: Well we’re just about wrapping up the mixing phase of a new album. First single and video “Misty Morning Dew” should be out in the next few weeks.

PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.

K: May 27th at the Exit/In in Nashville, TN, and cuz we’re playing…duh 😉
