Know Your Enemy
Know Your enemy is a high energy, Hard Rock band from NJ. Their style combines Rock, Punk, Metal and small doses of Hip Hop to create an Alternative Metal sound. Heavy guitar, clean & aggressive Vocals and a rhythm section groove that will grab you by the ears and make you want to move.
This four piece, Fonz Rodriguez (vocals), Jason Kent (guitar/vocals), Steven Bishop (bass) & Byron Lapola (drums) pulls you in like no other Hard Rock band. Pushing out energy you can’t avoid through a live performance that hooks you and does not disappoint.
Know Your Enemy first recorded an untitled demo (2014) in a private studio in Pennsylvania. The demo was shortly followed by the Heal The Wound EP (2015 Release) which was recorded at Trax East in South River, NJ. Engineered by Eric Rachel and produced by Eric Rachel & Jason Kent. “Poison” (track #3)has a guest vocal by Eryn Shewell (NJ Blues H.O.F.) and was chosen for the first Know Your Enemy music video. The video theme was thought up by Fonz and recorded, directed and edited by NJ indie film maker, Marc Petrick & “Ian”.
There second and latest release, “Root Of All Evil” (2019) brought the band back to Trax East to once again work with Eric Rachel. At the time is was unknown to the band but “Root Of All Evil” would be the last record produced at this legendary studio (closed January 1, 2019 – retired).
The completion of the album was stifled by the departure of their original bassist, Robert McCann as well as the loss of family and friends to the opioid epidemic.
The bass responsibilities were soon put under new ownership when Steven Bishop, a long time friend of the band joined the line up. The Album was back on the docket and the band hit the studio with regained inspiration.
The first single released “Sway” was accompanied by a music video (produced by Alex Dell’Aquilla/ Sammy The Horse Productions) and an expansion of Know Your Enemy’s sound.
Rumor has it, the band has already begun writing their next release.
