PD: What type of artist are you?

AM: I am Alex Mele Guitarist from the Italian power metal band Kaledon! On the road since 1998

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.

AM: Well I started to play guitar in 1994 and immediately I had clear in my mind that I wanted to play heavy metal. I started in school with a band named Prayers then became River Of Change. After this experience I created Kaledon in 1998 and for the rest of my musical career I stayed with them! Of Course I made music also with other bands (screamachine, mindfar and my solo record) but my heart is still with Kaledon.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

AM: My biggest influences as guitarists are Brin May, Adrian Smith and David Gilmour.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

AM: Oh well… as a musician I dream of living off my music, but today it is practically impossible heheheh

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

AM: I write 85% of Kaledon’s music. The rest is written by the other guys. In this new album for the very first time I didn’t wrote lyrics, that was entirelly written by Michele Guaitoli, the singer

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

AM: Promotion is a Record Company and Press Office duty! We have a professional staff behind that work for us. They are really professional.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

AM: I hate it at 150%! Downloading illegal files is not a victimless crime! Behind a record there are several people that works in it, money, lost sleep and time away from family, so I want RESPECT!

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

AM: For sure The Number Of The Beast… for me is one of the most important songs of our time!

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

AM: If you speak during the movie man! I’ll fucking kill ya ahahahahahah

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

AM: Oh they are many! I can tell you when we played with Ronnie James Dio, or when we were in studio with Jorg Michael, or one of our European tour…

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

AM: Finally we have a new album to release after 5 years, the title is Chapter 7: Evil Awakens! During the pandemic we all found time record this new album and yes… we are now ready to release it. The first Single The Dawn Of Dawns is now available on youtube and I am very proud of that song.

PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.

AM: This a very difficult moment to schedule shows! The pandemic is not over yet and many and many venues are in bankrupt so really I am not able to tell you more in this moment.
