Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (https://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: How would you describe yourself or your band as an artist?
JS: Im shaping electric bangers with metal attitude.
PD: Can you tell us briefly about your background – i.e. where you’re from, how you came to make music, etc.
JS: I came to music through Pro Tools and MIDI synths, metal-band experience, and electrical possibilities only so widely available today.
PD: Who and what inspires you to make music, both in terms of musical and other influences? What do you like to write about in your songs?
JS: Music inspires me to do music. The process overtakes life and makes fire.
PD: What are your aspirations as an artist?
JS: To open for metal bands here in Wisconsin who are my heroes. Such as Casket Robbery, Squidhammer, The Convalescence, Cast in Fire, Thundergoat, Yotuma, Among Them In Trenches, Dead Loss, and so many others.
PD: What is the proudest moment in your music career so far?
JS: A founding member of The Electric Hellfire Club liked my shit.
PD: Promoting one’s music is such a challenge these days, especially with so many new artists emerging from bedrooms in the day of the home studio. How is that going?
JS: Excellently!666
PD: And how do you book and promote your live shows and tours? Any performances coming up?
JS: Three performances are coming up: Catch me in Milwaukee July 15 at Rockstar Saloon; then later in Minneapolis July 27 (@Driftwood) and August 29 (@TheUnderground).
PD: What do you think about downloading music online? What about streaming sites like Spotify?
JS: I recommend fans use Bandcamp to support my and other musicians’ music. It’s an ethical site to support artists and get good downloads that you feel good about. You can spend literally one dollar and help a musician on Bandcamp.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
JS: Book of Lies by The Electric Hellfire Club. It is a perfect blend of musical style, sound, and topic that fuses into not a song but a phenomenon.
PD: Is there anything you don’t like about the music industry, which you would change if you could?
JS: I love everything about the music industry!666
PD: So, what are you working on at the moment?
JS: I am working on new levels. Perhaps a guitarist will join JUST1CE S0N or make something new.
PD: Where can we learn more about you and buy your music/merch online?
JS: please go to justiceson.bandcamp.com THANKS!
