Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
IC: Hi Pete! We are a death metal band with members from Austria and Southern Germany.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
IC: The band was formed in 2013. We released our first album “The Wake of Ares” in 2013. only two years later it was followed by the second full-length “Killing Creator” and this year on September 11th we will unchain the third onslaught “Dead Aesthetics”.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
IC: There are countless musical influences, also beyond the metal-genre. On lyrical side I´m a lot into classical authors like Rilke and philosophers such as Nietzsche.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
IC: We´re old so we got no more dreams. We just get together, make the music we like and have a good time. Then we´ll see what happens. Of course we wanna play as much live gigs as we can. Anywhere, anytime.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
IC: The music is written by the whole band. I write the lyrics when the songs are almost completed. I confront myself with all kind of topics. That can be political or personal. The main issue of “Dead Aesthetics” is death itself.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
IC: We use all kind of social media platforms for that. It´s the easiest way to hit a broad audience. But the best promotion are energizing live gigs.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
IC: I guess it´s just state of the art nowadays. Although the system is crap. As a small artist it´s rather unprofitable, except for promotion.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
IC: I´m very happy with the songs we´ve written so far. But if I had to choose I´d pick “Creeping Death” by Metallica. For me this is the definition of a metal song. It got all it needs.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
IC: Definitely the waiting times you have to endure as an artist. Before the shows or in the studio, you always have to wait. And you´re normally that focused you can´t do anything other in that time.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
IC: Every time an album is completed is very special. And the second gig of Infected Chaos has to be mentioned here. We opened for the infamous Possessed! One hell of a night!
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
IC: We´re completing the last details of “Dead Aesthetics”. The mixing is almost done and artwork is almost completed. Currently we´re looking for live shows to promote the new album and are already collecting ideas for the fourth album.
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
IC: Our next show will be “Krach am Berg (Noise on the mountain)” at Alpe Stubental in Tyrol/Austria. You have to be there because it´s a unique setting in the alps at a small hut hosted by one of the craziest guys our region has to offer. And of course we are the real shit on stage!
