Ignited – Interview
Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
I: The one who believes in its own music, in art to be delivered and shared to the entire world. And the one who tries so hard to don´t get down by any obscure forces of the music industry. …do you hear the grinder sounding?
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
I: I started to listen to music in my very younger age, listening radio stations and always get interested on rock music in the ending of the 90´s when some friends at school bought their own guitars (very cheap ones) and I remember the first time that I asked to one of them to borrow me for a couple of days. Memorable…and here we are twenty years later with some slightly graied beard.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
I: Heavy Metal in general, some modern metal bands or other subgenres are very welcome in my daily life’s soundtrack. Besides the music I like a lot to get some inspiration from any kind of people who are happy doing what they do for a living.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
I: I want to live one of life instead of two at same time, not one that pay the bills and the other that satisfies the existence whereas I can be myself. I mean that I dream to build a carrier and make my living in the music business only. That is my big goal, and after that I’d like to improve my cooking skills. rsrs
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
I: I wrote the most of the riffs, but everybody contributes in all stuffs, lyrics, grooves, arrangements. We try to transpose some lived situations, generally in our regular jobs into lyrics. Also we wrote some existential and a little bit philosophical ones, such as the lyrics of Shining Void and Times.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
I: By ourselves is 100% using the social networks mainly on instagram and facebook in this tense moment, and besides that, we have the great Emanuel`s contribution with NightfallPR getting in touch with a lot of people.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
I: It is very cool, no problem at all, I have been downloading songs since my teenage. Even in platforms like Spotify we are downloading streaming data every day, the difference is that they pay more than nothing to the artist and less than a penny for each stream, and they profit millions as a kind of “modern-torrent-fancy-worldwide-legalized” service rsrs
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
I: Heaven and Hell from Black Sabbath, because the riff along with the Dio’s interpretation is a kind of ultra illuminated view from our society and it has a very impacting atmosphere.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
I: People who deny knowledge and declare themselves better than others and feel like untouchable ones.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
I: Now is being a great moment, we are having some good feedbacks about our first album and I hope to grow more and more.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
I: New songs, new lyrics, an acoustic version from a song of our first album, and preparing a new release before the second album.
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
I: You can have our entire album on our Youtube channel, which is ignited_official. Also on bandcamp we have Steelbound available for purchase and download in high-quality format.
