Huxley – Interview
Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
H: Some would say rock gods, legendary at our craft, but we would cap it at hard rock.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
H: We emerged like a Phoenix from the ashes of several other projects to form the beauty that is Huxley.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
H: We are influenced daily by all types of music and things. The greatest thing about Huxley is we can appeal to all genres because we honestly like them all.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
H: We want to be the greatest rock band of our generation. Right up there with all the rock and roll legends. Save us a seat Zeppelin, well see you soon.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
H: Our songs are a collaborative effort. Every member has thier say and puts thier own unique spin on a track. As far as lyrics go Doug writes the majority of them with occasional help from the rest of the guys. All our songs can be about whatever you take away from them. It’s rock music and you’re old enough interprite them however want. You don’t need to be told how to feel.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
H: Aggressive gorilla marketing. We send Robbie out to local malls in a gorilla costume to hand out flyers.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
H: It’s how music works. Listen to the songs as much as you need too, it’s not until you see us live will you get the full Huxley. We want you to listen to the songs, however you make that happen is up to you.
PD: What’s your outlook on the record industry today?
H: It’s a tough market to be in. You always have to be willing to work for it. Which is why they are going to all want a piece of Huxley.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
H: Sweet Caroline. Everyone knows it…
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
H: That there is not enough love for Huxley. Y’all are going to be so sad when you are behind the game.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
H: When Pete’s Rock News determined Huxley was the greatest band they have ever interviewed. I mean we are pretty impressive, so I get it.
PD: Damn right!!!
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there
H: January 25th in Atlantic City, Nj at the Anchor Rock club. It is going to be our EP release show and it’s going to be huge. The venue is beautiful, the supporting acts are fantastic and ofcourse there will Huxley. It’s going to be biggest show of 2020, we promise nothing less. We’ll see you there.
