Heartwork
After spending 6 years under the moniker of Dropout Dan, Daniel O’Dell felt it was time to leave the “folk-punk” persona behind and try his hand at creating a sound closer to his own listening habits. Due to a frighteningly familiar scene of bad
times, bad choices, splintered hearts and too much gin, O’Dell found love in a new musical direction, adopted the name Heartwork and, in 2014, released two solo E.Ps – ‘Five’ & ‘Coloured Out’. This new project has been described by some as “Clearly cathartic, never cloying and ultimately uplifting and redemptive” with “real life tales of heartache expertly executed”.
Some months later, O’Dell relocated from his countryside hometown in rural Cambridgeshire for the busy city life of Cardiff for a change of scenery. In the process he gained a new perspective on life & started putting his fingers to the
strings and a pen to paper.
Now in 2017 after a number of shows, a successful Kickstarter campaign and a building fanbase, O’Dell is pleased to bring you his debut, self-produced, full band album – ‘Things I Wish I’d Said’ via Aaahh!! Real Records. Mixed and Mastered by Matty Moon (B-Sydes, Bloody Knees, Lonely The Brave).
