FLATLANDS
Tom Keogh (vocals/guitar), Jamie Corish (vocals/bass), Nat Jones (guitar) and Rob Maclennan (drums) collectively form Flatlands. An indie pop four piece from Oxford, formed late 2016.
Early shows include support slots for, Yonaka, Redfaces, Rhy Lewis, Rews and Neon Waltz, as they released their debut E.P.
After a busy summer of festivals, Sofar Sounds acoustic gigs and a sell out headline show in Oxford, Flatlands welcomed their birthday with release of their hit single Friday Night. The track gained national radioplay, being described as “a certified banger”. Support slots with Marsicans and Cassels soon followed and, in February 2018, the boys announced the release of their second E.P ‘At The Time It Made Perfect Sense’
Reset comes off the back of this announcement. The track shows a maturity in the band’s sound; reverberating guitars swirl between Keogh’s powerful vocals, and bombastic drums bring together an almost post-hardcore soundscape. Without a doubt Flatlands retain the pop charm of early singles like “One Major One Minor”. However, Friday Night and, now, Reset are clear indicators of a musically broader approach to their songcraft.
