DENH IZEN SIGN TO DISOBEDIENT RECORDS + ANNOUNCE DOUBLE SINGLE
18 June 2021
London-based alt-rock quartet Denh Izen are delighted to announce that they have signed to Disobedient Records, with their double-single ‘Slips Away’ and ‘Never Again’ scheduled for release on 18th June.
Commenting on the songs, vocalist Tavish JW Westwood said: “‘Slips Away’ is written about running away from inevitable self-destruction and the overwhelming explosion when it confronts you face-to-face. Whereas ‘Never Again’ is about the difficulty of forgetting traumatic experiences yet finding comfort in the lingering chaos that fills your mind.”
Since their inception in 2018, the band have released debut EP ‘Storage Solutions’ and standalone single ‘Games’. Their last double single ‘Innocuous’ and ‘Waiting’ was championed by So Young Magazine and Fred Perry Subculture.
Over the years, the act have shared stages with Pleasure Heads, Italia 90, PVA, Pet Grotesque, Mouse On Mars, Football FC, Odd Morris and THYLA. The band also appeared at The Three Wheel Drive festival in 2019 alongside Squid, Chappaqua Wrestling and Scalping.
The four-piece channel guitar music’s dark underbelly and create songs that are packed with booming vocals, swirling guitars and atmospheric mood swings. ‘Slips Away’ and ‘Never Again’ is set to be their best release so far.
“The songs will hopefully reach the right people who will resonate with the sometimes cryptic but chaotic and measured nature of the tracks and find some solace in that. And hopefully, help them to feel a bit better if they’re feeling like shite.”
‘Slips Away’ and ‘Never Again’ is out on 18th June via Disobedient Records.
