Decatur is a metal band based out of Toronto, Canada. Comprised of Jay “Beard” Sarrazin (Lead Vocals/Guitar) Tiny Basstank (Bass/Backup Vocals) Steve “Animal” Mitchell (Drums/ Backup Vocals) and Liam Maguire (Guitar/Backup Vocals) Decatur has a sound of their own. A force to reckon with, that’s loud and proud, these Canadian born musicians draw their sound from many places, bands and genres.
Taking inspiration from the thrash kings like Metallica, Slayer and Pantera and combining it with bands like Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and In Flames, Decatur touches all spectrums of metal and aren’t afraid to spread their wings and try something different and daring. From the hard partying chants of their single “Vegas Girl” and the story telling of “Badder Than Brooklyn” to the brutal beat down of songs like “Bottled Inside” and “Internal War”, Decatur is dedicated to writing actual songs and albums and bringing metal back to the era of long lasting music that can be listened to for years to come.
Their obsession with growing and their relentless hard work shows in their live performances and in their non-stop attitude to take the next step in bringing real metal back to the world and to the fans from the 80’s all the way to the present. With years of touring in their other bands (Caym, Burning The Day, A Sin For A Prayer) this local super group is hungrier than ever and excited to show their dominance as a force to reckon with in the Canadian metal scene and soon worldwide.
