Counting The Killers – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)

PD: What type of artist are you?

CTK: COUNTING THE KILLERS is a 5 piece hard rock / metal band based in Essex, United kingdom.

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.

CTK: COUNTING THE KILLERS was conceived in late August 2019, with the intention to write and record a collection of songs that would appeal to hard rock and alternative metal fans.

With an ethos to create and deliver the best material possible, the band got to work.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

CTK: Influences are quite eclectic within the band,  Fightstar, Therapy?, Slash, Slipknot, Shinedown, Feeder, Periphery, Staind and Machine Head to name just a few.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

CTK: Are dreams and goals at the moment are simply to play our first gig. Due to the corona virus we haven’t been able to do this yet but we’re all itching to get out there and finally play.

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

CTK: We’ve been really busy with promoting the band during lockdown. We have bombarded social media, radio stations and anyone who we feel would like to hear from us with 4 tracks and videos, so far, from our upcoming E.P. Hidden in the Open. We still have tracks to put out in the coming months once we get the videos done.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

CTK: Downloading music is great for everyone we feel. Being about to instantly access music is essential for listeners, especially at the moment, and bands have another platform to showcase their music. Although you can’t beat having a physical version.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

CTK: There are hundreds of songs that we wish we had written, but then it wouldn’t be us, so we’re happy to have written what we have so far.

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

CTK: Pet peeves, oooh, so many to choose from. Bands who don’t stick around after playing to hear the other bands on the bill, all the bands that are on later have taken the time to listen to you so please stay and watch. People on social media who just click like on a post without reading or listening to what you’ve put out. And drummers who keep playing while you’re trying to tune up lol.

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

CTK: Our proudest moment so far is how much we’ve achieved without playing a gig. We had a huge response on social media when we announced the band back in August 2019, which was fantastic, and also with each track release we’ve had.

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

CTK: We are still writing during lockdown. We were nearly finished writing 2 tracks just before it all came to a halt again. The next video is currently underway and hopefully it will be released very soon.

PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?

CTK: Tracks already released are WINTER, COUNTING THE KILLERS, HEAD ABOVE WATER and ANOTHER SHORE. All are available from the links below.
