Four piece Country Rock outfit, Boxes release new single ‘Fighter’ Out Now

Boxes are a four piece Country Rock outfit hailing from Manchester, UK.

The band have been hailed as ‘Nashville -Upon-Irwell’ as they have been likened to the country scene in the Southern states but have maintained elements of the North West of England deep within their music.  The river Irwell being the river which flows through the city they now reside in, Manchester.

After growing a following putting on live streams during the COVID 19 lockdowns the band went on to have success with their first EP ‘Why Don’t You Listen’ and their following on track ‘Over’.. Their single ‘Over’ hit the number 1 spot on the iTunes country charts and was played on the BBC,  Country Line UK, Absolute Radio as well as many independent stations – the single even caught the attention of The Shires who highlighted Boxes as their one to watch on their Apple Music radio show.

Boxes have also featured on official BCMA line ups, Tennessee Fields, Buckle and Boots and other country shows.

Track Description:

The song tells the tale of how family has shaped the writer. The first half of the song is how the writer’s mother grew up bullied for being different and the second half tells the tale of the father, who battled with mental health issues.

‘Mum, you made me a fighter and Dad you gave me hope’

‘You always said that love is the answer, try telling that to the kid held up by the bouncer who knew where she came from NO is the answer, let me in’

‘’Try and hide to escape the trouble, but trouble always find me, the pin to my bubble, when I’m trying to float, still trying to stay high’

The song is produced raw, it’s meant to have imperfections, it’s meant to sound like it was done in one live take.
