Winter of 1983, Boston, MA is when it all got started. We had regional airplay, a few regional hits, headlined clubs, got some great reviews and did gigs with bands like Metallica, Extreme, Twisted Sister, Molly Hatchet, Foghat and Lita Ford all through the 80’s.
We played everywhere they let us! Our kind of rock as you know, was all but banished from the traditional airwaves so after a ton of gigs and moving a ton of gear and showcasing for all the major labels, Axminster went on hiatus.
The new millennium came, an independent record label based in New York City, got a hold of the Axminster master tapes, signed the band and released a CD that spanned the group’s recording career. At an outdoor concert, before our died hard fans, the band played a reunion show. We had a great time getting back together and we’re still making music today…
We have a long catalog of songs and videos that we’d like to share with new friends and if you’re interested in giving them a listen and a spin (dating myself on that one)… and hoping that you like ‘em.
Just can’t stop playing ya know?
