Artemis Rising

Artemis Rising – This isn’t your generic everyday music. Their music refers to Metalcore and Post-Hardcore most of the time but without fulfilling the typical stereotypes. Diversity plays a big role. Not to force to be different but rather to entertain and to fascinate. What comes out is a variety of songs to defy monotony. There are huge ass breakdowns and guitar riffs next to drum and bass dominated parts next to electronic sounds and catchy choruses. This variety, that’s the bands self-addressed aspiration, is the cornerstone on which Artemis Rising will build on.

HOW EVERYTHING BEGAN

It took a little while before the five young musicians came together. Already at the end of 2012, guitarist Dennis decided to find members for his band project.

After several changes the current lineup had been formed. Guitarist Kevin and drummer Tobi joined in spring 2013. Dennis twin Kevin joined shortly after as the bands bass player. After a long search, the instrumental quartet found its singing equivalent near the end of 2013 in vocalist Wim.

ABOUT THE BAND NAME

The band’s name derives from the Greek goddess “Artemis”. She’s the goddess of hunting and protector of women and children. With “Artemis Rising” the band imagines this rather peaceful and harmless goddess rises above her position to outshine everyone else. She no longer uses her power for its actual purpose, but to fight for power and recognition. The band tries to express this combative and energetic mood with their music.
