Wizards of Gore Interview
Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
The kind that should not be.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
Well, here we go. We started as a typical goregrind band by the name of Elperly Dick, until we changed our name to Wizards of Gore in 2015. New members came in and we spiced our style with more slam, death metal, thrash etc. And funk. The lineup consists of the following: Nicholass Assmell (guitars/back vocal), Klif Kurton (bass) and Radagast the Brown (drums/vocals).
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
S.O.D., Terrorizer, Solstice, Gutalax, Kanye West. Our non musical influences include, the Harry potter series, Lord of the Rings, Eddie Murphy, Bertstrips, Masashi Kishimoto. And Seagulls.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
Dreams: Playing on Obscene Extreme. Goals: Find a better label, get a new release out (soon) and spread our music to as many listeners possible.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
The songs are made together. Assmell writes some cool riffs, presents them and then we work together on the structure and all. We have many stories in our songs. Our new song, Autistic Artistic, is dedicated to our irresponsible ex-guitarist, Grind Maguz Asstonidass Butripah, the rest involve the Harry Potter universe, shit and seagulls.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
Social media and various groups on FB. As for shows, social media, news and interviews with some webzines, web magazines. But mainly, just spam the fuck out of everything.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
Good way to spread your music to fans, but dont expect any income from it. Which is crappy, since cd-s, covers, booklets and the works arent free. In other words, there are benefits and shortcomings to online downloading.
PD: What is your outlook on the record industry today?
Needs more partygrind.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
Any song by RATM. Cause they know how to groove. Speed is good, but a good groove is something else.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
Cocky bands and lousy promoters. And asshole friends.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
When we got rid of our our ex-guitarist.
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
We have some shows on our to-do list. Why you should be there? Do you like parties? Moshing? Dancing? Well then get your ass to our show, cause those are the things that await you.
