PD. What type of artist are you?
V. Allrounder (hahahahahh). Seriously, the singer paints, draws, tattooes for a living, our bass player films and edits videos, our main guitarist creates graphics with photo editors and our drummer loves watching art exhibits. Plus we’re all awesome cooks! We love any kind of art
PD. Tell us the brief history of yourself.
V. Viboras were born in 2003 from the ashes of Berenice Beach and Derby Crash, two punk bands from Milan’s underground. Since then (except a stop from 2010 to 2015) we’ve played, recorded and been around all the time
PD. Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
V. Punk rock and such (Rancid, Social Distortion, the Clash, Misfits), and everything else! Tom Petty, Zeke, Devil In Me…you name it. We come from different backgrounds, our drummer and guitar soloist were metalheads for example, but we all fit in our place when it comes to playing together
PD. What are your dreams and goals?
V. Being able to play for as long as we wish to and continue to meet all the awesome people and artists we’ve been meeting in these 15 years! We’ll keep on making music and playing it around evermore
PD. Who writes your songs, what are they about?
V. Last album was written by Irene but arranged by the whole band, these songs are about everyday life and hassles and some unresolved issues you sometimes think about. You might end up eaten alive by your demons if you’re not careful, and that happens to everyone
PD. How do you promote your band and shows?
V. We have an italian booking/PR agency and another PR agency for abroad. Almost all of what we do is uploaded on our facebook page @viboras.rocks and our instagram @viboras_official, and the places we play at create events on FB to publicize the night. Plus we try to talk about our tour dates and events during interviews!
PD. What do you think about downloading music online?
V. Nothing wrong, it’s like having a radio playing 24/7 with all the music you love but it feels as if it’s killing the will to go to small/medium bands’ live shows. Only the real big names are safe, but who knows for how long. Hope this will change soon enough
PD. What song do you wish you’d written and why?
V. Hmmm, just one? We wish we’d written at least a couple dozen songs hahahhah! All of Rancid’s “Let’s go” album, the Clash’s “London calling”, Comeback Kid’s “Wake the dead” are just a few examples
PD. What are some of your pet peeves?
V’ Musically, those who put more effort in appearing cool than in writing cool songs. They make music for themselves and not for their public, and you can hear that right away cause their songs suck!
PD. What is your proudest moment in music?
V. Every time someone sings our songs, and every time someone comes up to us to say how they liked our album or listened to it while growing up 10+ years ago. And of course every positive review of our work makes us terribly proud!
PD. So what are you working on at the moment?
V. We’re promoting our new album which got released about 3 months ago and we’ll be doing that for the whole summer, but soon after we’ll continue writing our next album since we’re planning to record it during the winter
PD. Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
V. We’ll be in Switzerland this saturday as support band for Crazy Town, in Rho (Milan) the 8th of june, at Mesero Love Fest (Milan) the 16th of June, at Rock Out Fest (Brescia) the 6th of july and in Arcole (Verona) the 13th of july. You should come not only for the good music and the good times. The fun goes on after the show, when we get off stage and hang around! Come have a drink and a chat with us!
