VELVET SUNSET release new EP ‘Love At 2am‘, out now on Golden Robot Records.
Parisian indie rock duo, VELVET SUNSET, have released their new 5-track EP, Love at 2am, now available on all digital platforms through Golden Robot Records.
Love at 2am mixes heavy guitar riffs with melodic vocals and poetic lyrics. The 5 freshly remastered songs surf the garage rock/shoegaze vibe. Love at 2 am offers the listener a beautiful invitation to travel in a world talking about freedom and love.
VELVET SUNSET are influenced by the likes of Eels, Mazzy Star, Led Zeppelin, The Verve, The Vines, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana and My Bloody Valentine. Their sound drifts from funk music to classic 90’s rock to shoegaze
EP TRACK BY TRACK
The recently released single, ‘Drive Me’ offers a loud and dreamy but powerful shoegaze slice that feels deeply melodic and rock ‘n’ roll.
An alt-rock/shoegaze song that was written after a friend of the band sadly passed away. The songs grungy guitars support the emotional lyrics and vocals.
‘Summer Night’ is all about summer love, when everything feels careless and romantic. You don’t know if you’ll ever see each other again, but you feel good and alive.
Old School Lovers
Like a lullaby or a folk song singing about the changes of direction in life.
I Ride All Night
‘I Ride All Night’ is a shoegaze song talking about being more present and connected with yourself and caring less about what you should be for others.

ABOUT VELVET SUNSET
Originally called Hopeless Kids, the band formed in February 2016 in Paris, France, changing to VELVET SUNSET along the way. With Max on guitar and bass, and vocalist/song writer, Eleonore, they reshaped their identity to be more west coast dream-like, and re-issued their first album in 2019, with old and new songs.
They released their second album Down the Road in June 2020, followed by a 4 song EP Goodbye Summertime in September 2020, and a single ‘Down the River’ in November 2020, which was featured on David Dean Burkhart’s YouTube Channel.
In February 2021, they covered Lana Del Rey’s ‘Video Games’ song for Valentine’s Day, and in March and April that year, new singles were released, surfing on the dream pop/shoegaze vibe, ‘Blue’ and ‘Drive Me’. Both were staff picks at Deezer, Pandora and won track of the day at Exile FM RADIO. They also appeared on TV (IDF1 France) in May 2021, to present the video clip for ‘Drive Me’. The single, ‘Summer Night’, was then released in July 2021, with ‘I Ride All Night’ dropping in December 2021. In February 2022, VELVET SUNSET signed on with Golden Robot Records.
