Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
T: I would describe myself as a crossover singer.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
T: I’m currently a professional musician/vocalist, with some acting experience, song writer and producer. I’ve performed as a Professional Wrestler on two separate continents. I’m a retired Law Enforcement Officer, an ex college and professional Athlete and I’m currently writing a book.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
T: I have many musical influences such as Prince, George Michaels, Whitney Houston, Freddie Mercury, Luther Vandross, Marc Anthony. The Whispers and Babyface!
As for non musical influences, I would say the late Great Walter Payton “NFL”, Martin Luther King and Former USA President Barack Obama.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
T: To be an international musical Role Model!
To travel the world performing music of class and substance! To perform in movies and to write a “Best Seller book”.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
T: I write my songs and they are about personal experiences which occurred in my life. I also write about experiences which are easily relatable to listeners around the world that reminds them of their own personal life experiences.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
T: Via social media i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.
But now that I am under Spider Music, they have their methods of reaching out to the fans. Follow Tylarik via Spider Music Social Media.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
T: It’s definitely a change from the old ways of distribution (Record stores) but internet distribution in my opinion reaches more people and gives fans a greater opportunity to listen to and to view their favorite artist.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
T: We Are The World by Michael Jackson. This is a song which called for world unity. A song created to bring people from all walks of life together and to bring awareness of troubles in our world.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
T: When people fail to try! I believe there is an artist in every person. There’s something beautiful and unique in all of us. But when a person who has the gift gives up on their God given talent and opportunities without trying their best, that bothers me.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
T: Performing on stage with my daughters group (Safyiah) for the first time! That was AWESOME!
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
T: I’m constantly writing new songs and music which I hope will be the next big hit. I’m also working on a book and I’m always working on getting better with my craft!
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be
T: After we get through the COVID Pandemic, The next performance for Tylarik will be a show to remember. With the Power of Spider Music! And the great songs I have recently released, it will be a great one.
