Thunderian Summer – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)

PD: How would you describe yourself or your band as an artist?

TS: 5 guys banging out some serious noise… and the music isn’t bad either

PD: Can you tell us briefly about your background – i.e. where you’re from, how you came to make music, etc.

TS: All hard working Midlands lads coming together out pure desperation… all with a collective fear of being bored to death. Fortunately, the band is our saving grace from the monotony that would consume us.

PD: Who and what inspires you to make music, both in terms of musical and other influences?

TS: Life, love the music is our expression of the world around us. Influence, loads… Oasis, Foo Fighters, The gaslight anthem, slash, Sam fender, anyone really who has something to say that we connect with  the list is endless

PD: What do you like to write about in your songs?

TS: failed relationships is the general go to…. thigs we see, things we don’t see, add some fantasy and random animals pretty much

PD: What are your aspirations as an artist?

TS: All of it.

PD: What is the proudest moment in your music career so far?

TS: Having a functional liver

PD: Promoting one’s music is such a challenge these days, especially with so many new artists emerging from bedrooms in the day of the home studio. How is that going?

TS: it’s most definitely going… where though is anyone’s guess…  we just try and do a little better than the year before and keep enjoying it is key. Ask Kelly!

PD: And how do you book and promote your live shows and tours? Any performances coming up?

TS: We book shows through what ever avenue we can, and whatever contacts we make. We promote literally everywhere!

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

TS: no fun if you don’t have a signal

PD: What about streaming sites like Spotify?

TS: lots of pros and cons… but it’s not going away anytime soon so just have to get with the program

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

TS: Handwritten by the gaslight anthem springs to mind… just a perfectly track with energy great lyrics and delivery

PD: Is there anything you don’t like about the music industry, which you would change if you could?

TS: yes could everyone stop being so talented for a min and let us catch up! There does need to be more focus on grass roots and the live music scene in general… and tax exemptions for all front men

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

TS: My current relationships soon to become another written album

PD: Where can we learn more about you and buy your music/merch online?

TS: Thunderian summer says it all… spell its right and bang it in google
