The Rubettes New Single – Glamnezia

The Rubettes formed in 1973 and shot to fame with their incredibly famous number 1 single ‘Sugar Baby Love”. Since then they’ve been gigging round the globe and working with some of the biggest names in music.

Their new album Glamnezia features reimagined versions of classic glam tracks from the likes of The Osmonds, Wizzard and Dr and The Medics. Their new single Glamnezia is a foot stomping glam rock jamboree that will definitely get you grooving.

The Rubettes featuring John, Mick & Steve have recently created a new album called Glamnezia. It has many of the classic hits and reworkings of famous glam classics from the 70’s era including a glam-metal version of Crazy Horses by the Osmonds, See My Baby Jive by Wizzard and many other timeless tunes of the day. Their legendary track Sugar Baby Love has recently hit the top 10 in the Northern American charts and has inspired the group to record this concept album with Steve Etherington and Mike Bennett on the mixing desk. The two producers combined credits include a collective array of artists including Wishbone Ash, LuLu, Shane MacGowan, The Fall, Ian Brown, Mungo Jerry, Angie Brown and Hot Chocolate, many of these influences are used on Glamnezia.

Another forthcoming jam on the album is a collaboration with Sweets, Andy Scott, who greatly inspired this single Glamnezia, which of course is the title track of the album with its iconic 70’s star spangled guitar work and catchy chorus which is reminiscent of groups such as Mott The Hoople, Alex Harvey, Hello, Slade and many more.
