Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
TP: I’m a solo artist in the alternative rock genre.
PD: Tell us a brief history of yourself.
TP: I grew up in Philadelphia, USA but also lived in Athens, Greece where my parents are from. I started writing songs when I was 14.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
TP: My influences are mostly rock bands from the 90’s. My very first influences were Metallica and Nirvana. As far as non musical influences, I’m drawn to nature.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
TP: In general, I want to make music that people will hopefully enjoy. Winning a Grammy would definitely be a dream come true.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
TP: I write all my songs. I write about love, life and personal experiences.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
TP: I promote everything online. But also my PR does a lot of the heavy lifting at Knight PR.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
TP: I’m not the biggest fan, it’s not fair to musicians, but this is where the evolution of music has come to.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
TP: Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. It’s a masterpiece. The layers of vocals, the music, the rocking part at the end, so good.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
TP: Lack of loyalty. A lot of musicians nowadays are in several bands instead of sticking to one project and giving it their all towards a successful career.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
TP: Hearing a song of mine getting airplay on a well known radio station in Philadelphia.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
TP: I am working on a music video for the first single of the album, as well as a documentary on the making of the album.
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
TP: I have released my first solo album and it’s available on all streaming stores such as Spotify, Apple Music and more.
