The Metatrons

The new album “DECONSTRUCTION” by riot-pop band THE METATRONS is available now through CHAPTER 22 RECORDS.

“Deconstruction”, their third album since their formation in 2011, takes the band to the heart of crunchy guitar pop music with very personal themes – from the joyful “Who want their) Feet on the ground” to the not-so-subtle digs at those “in charge” in “Population 1” to the universal lifelong love of your favourite music reflected in “I hear you”.

“We are really, really pleased to be working with Chapter 22 Records” says Simon Hinksman, guitarist and songwriter. “Their rosta of bands from the 80’s and 90’s were a big deal to us and the fact that they saw something in these new songs and that our band could be part of their family and sit alongside those iconic bands means a lot to us”.

“We cant wait for the album to be heard and get on the road with these new songs – they are energetic and noisy as well as very tuneful and catchy – a proper guitar pop record”.

“Deconstruction” is available to buy through www.chapter22records.bigcartel.com

They will be touring throughout Summer 2021

The Metatrons are a fuzzy pop band, formed in 2011 in Hitchin, Herts. We have three yes three albums out – our new one for 2020 is called “Deconstruction”, our 2016 album is called “Patterns of Chaos” and the first album from 2011 is called “Between Planets”. We also released a 7″ double A side single on Record Shop Day , various videos and…..other things as well.

We play live a lot, sometimes near home and sometimes we’ll go further away and play elsewhere. We’ve played with lots of people including The Primitives, Echobelly, Dodgy, Brix, The Blockheads, Shonen Knife and many more. Once live music can restart (2021? Who knows) we are gonna be touring our little bottoms off.

The people in the band all have names and do particular things and these are them:

Polly – the singing and keyboards
Rico – the bass guitar
Steve – the drums
Simon – the guitar and some singing

We all share a love of punk, pop, chips and sunny afternoons.

We’ve all been in other bands in the past, such as Catherine in the Cupboard, The Astronauts, Redmaxx, New Kick and several others.
