Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
TID: I’m a Chilean solo artist living in Calgary, Canada, and I mainly write and perform Gothic Metal with some elements of Black and Industrial and inspired by gothic horror, dark romance and vampire literature.
PD: Tell us a brief history of yourself.
TID: Music has always been part of my life. I started singing in a punk band and later I joined the Metal band Sacramento (from Chile) in which I was the vocalist for 7 years. I’ve been a solo artist for 5 years and I am releasing my second work as a solo artist this October 30th.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
TID: My musical influence I have to say Devil Doll is the most important. I also like classical music and electronic. And non-musical influences are books I’m reading (gothic horror, personal growth), characters from shows (Vanessa Ives is my favourite), visual artists, etc. I’m a big fan of the legend of Dracula.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
TID: To be able to be a solo artist full-time. To write and published short stories. To perform a show at Bram Castle that will of course make it to a DVD. And to write the next albums of The Inferno Doll that I have in mind.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
TID: I write my songs. And for my debut album (“Dollmination”) and upcoming EP “Sacrifice”, I worked with Chilean guitarist, composer and producer, Gabriel Hidalgo
My songs are about personal experiences, growth, heartbreak, life. All this inspired by dark romance, gothic horror and fiction.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
TID: Posting on social media, live streaming on Facebook or Instagram, I also have a mailing list so I’m always emailing my fans about news and updates and Facebook ads. I’ve been learning about ads at Savvy Musician Academy for some time and it’s pretty amazing!
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
TID: We’re in the digital age, so it’s ok. As long as you support the artist and it’s not illegal, of course.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
TID: “The Girl Who Was… Death” by Devil Doll because is my favourite album.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
TID: People who use you and take advantage of you. People who lie to you. People who don’t like cats or dogs.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
TID: Working with Gabriel and releasing my upcoming EP “Sacrifice” as an independent artist.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
TID: Right now I’m focused on the release of “Sacrifice”: the music videos & imagery that go hand in hand with the music.
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
