Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
TH: We are a 4 piece indie/rock band from Yorkshire. We write predominantly energetic, singalong songs.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
TH: We originally talked about the idea of starting the band pre-covid and after a long wait we are buzzing to finally get things rolling. It took a lot of FaceTime calls between the band during the lockdowns to start to get some songs written so it certainly made things challenging to start up as a band.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
TH: Our influences include the likes of Blossoms, Johnny Marr, Catifsh etc but we do feel like we don’t particularly sound like any other band and we always try to adapt our own sound to our songs.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
TH: We like to set short term goals and they are forever changing with each one we meet. We like to do it this way and try not to think too far ahead and just keep pushing as far as we can go.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
TH: The 2 main song writers are Matty and Sam but we all have our input when we get in to the rehearsal room no matter what stage the song might be at. Our songs are mainly influenced by personal situations and things we see around us.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
TH: Social media is the main one for us and many bands these days also radio stations, flyers and telling everyone you see on a night out!
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
TH: We like how easily accessible music is these days and for a new band it really is a big help getting our music out there.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
TH: So many to choose from and more than likely it would be a different answer one day to the next but today’s is The element of surprise by the last shadow puppets its just a class song.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
TH: Bands that blatantly rip off other massively successful bands hearing bands with in bands as inspiration is great but not when they try to sound exactly the same its been done before and can’t be replicated to the same level.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
TH: That’s a hard one to answer as there are so many to choose from. Every time we write a song and take it through all of the stages to the finished product that always leaves us very proud
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
TH: We are currently preparing for gigs and working on new music we plan to keep recording songs as often as possible
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
TH: We have 3 singles available to stream. You can find those on all major streaming platforms and all major store too.
