Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
TB: The Bind is a rock driven power trio, trying to push original music forward
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
TB: Formed after high school we have pushed, dragged, and powered through to get here. Brought up from local bars and dives to the fleeting original music scene that had prospered during the 1990’s in and around Boston/Providence. We focus on original music and a tight exciting live show
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
TB: We are all influenced by our situations, so that’s a big one. Family is a big influence in all of our lives. Musically we are old souls, bringing a lot of music from the past forward. From Hendrix, Allmans, to Billy Joel, to musical theatre
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
TB: Our dreams and goal are the same, to be able to create music and art that can enable us to support our families while we do it!
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
TB: Well, there is three of us, anybody can and does. Our songs will usually reflect our lives around us. On occasion we get silly
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
TB: Coming up in the days of glad-handing and flyer-ing, we have that kind of old school approach of think global act local! Also, the internet, always the internet.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
TB: Convenient but just not the experience of enjoying a musical purchase. Retail baby!
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
TB: Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, because musically it’s a whole different world than where I live
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
TB: Unprofessionalism, being inconsiderate, and being self-centred
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
TB: Having your kids enjoy music that you have created
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
TB: Recording, always back to recording. The Bind just finished a two-month crunch for a Christmas show!
PD: What music have do you have available online and where can we buy it from?
TB: Our music can be found on any of the platforms! Go to YouTube and follow the links! Locally we can be bought (our music) at Purchase Street Records in New Bedford,Ma.
