London based AT THE SUN are a heavy rock 5 piece blending their love of blues, metal and classic rock to create a powerful sound of big riffs, soulful vocals and ripping solos.

So the wait is over, the debut EP from AT THE SUN has been released! ‘Breathe’ the EP has arrived. So what is it all about?

The EP was recorded, mixed and mastered by John Mitchell at Outhouse Studios and released on June 3rd. The highly anticipated release was further emulated when the band held a successful launch party at London’s The Water Rats.

Opening with the title track, ‘Breathe’ we are immediately treated to soaring guitars and thumping drums. The track is familiar yet new. A great rocking number which will have you singing along, shaking your head and pumping your fist in the air. ‘Walk On Over’ over as a cross between The Dead Daisies and Rival Sons. It has balls, it rocks and it is sexy as f**k. Any song that contains the line “I’ve got my mind on your body and it looks fantastic” deserves to have the awesome riff that comes with ‘Walk on Over’  and what a riff it is, simply awesome. Guitarists Kieron Heavens and Chet Jogia play some of the best interactive guitar work that I’ve heard this year. ‘Walk on Over’ should be getting lots of radio play.

More traditional rocker ‘Devil in Your Eyes’ highlights the rhythm section of Alex Matthews on bass and Craig Steen on drums. There is some superb production work here especially on Dales vocal performance and yet again we are treated to a ball busting riff. Final track ‘Indestructible’ is as solid as it gets. Great vocals, tight rhythm section and a band pulling together, all this and a guitar solo that demands to be listened to. This is really good.

With Breathe EP,  AT THE SUN show us just how good they are. It is an EP that rocks, it is an EP that delivers. It has rocking moments, it can get real bluesy and it can be just plain sexy. It is well worth you taking the time to have a listen, but be warned, you will want to listen to it again and again.
