The Prague formation STELL/\RIS released the long-awaited single called “Avatar”, with which they open the band’s new direction in cooperation with the American producer Jonathan Doles from KonKrete Studios LA (Cane Hill, For the Fallen Dreams and more). Last year, the band set a high concert pace and thus presented their debut EP “Upside Down”, released in 2022, to a wide audience across leading Czech festivals and concerts abroad. This year we can look forward to a debut album that will carry the spirit of modern metal and huge sound from the pen of Jonathan Doles.
“Avatar” is the first song of the album mentioned above. The band chose a more mainstream approach of modern metal, where fans can expect both a catchy chorus and the brutal screams of singer Nicol. The lyrics itself concerns an issue which, with the expanding influence of social networks and cyberspace in general, is unfortunately very current. It is cyberbullying, which has many forms, but always only one result for the victim – pain. The band itself experienced cyberbullying in its early days, with Nicol in particular being greatly affected by this behavior from these individuals. Now, in cooperation with Jonathan, she got the opportunity to express herself about this problem (and quite explicitly!) and to take “Avatar” as a form of therapy. The band believes that this song can help people who are dealing with cyberbullying to find strength and stand up for themselves. Because only cowards hide behind their avatar.
STELL/\RIS is a metal band, established in 2019 in Prague, perceptibly influenced on metalcore roots. This four piece band will take you on the journey without any musical boundaries, based on heavy guitars, intense grooves and wide-range vocals of the frontwoman Nicol. In 2020 band released their very first music video single “Find Your Course” which immediately got attention both in Czech Republic as well as abroad. After a few released singles, the band released their debut EP called “Upside Down” in 2022, which in the same year they presented to a wide range of audiences across leading Czech festivals such as Brutal Assault, Fajtfest, Basinfirefest, Metal Gate Czech Death Fest or Death Coffee Party, as well as at concerts abroad. This year, the band is set to release their debut album in collaboration with American producer Jonathan Doles of KonKrete Studios LA (Cane Hill, For the Fallen Dreams and more). The main goal of STELL/\RIS is to continue to create quality and original production, which, together with the huge energy on the stage hitting everyone at the concerts.
