Stacrazy – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (

PD: What type of artist are you?

S: A good-time rock n roll band

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.

S: We formed in September 2019 and have been working hard to create the music we enjoy ever since

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

S: Musical influences include The Struts and The Lemon Twigs and

Non-musical influences include John Waters (The film director), Coca Cola and Pizza from Frankie’s Pizza in Sydney CBD

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

S: To make people happy with our music and be able to bring a level flamboyance and fun to hard rock music. Would also love to have a song on a Tony Hawk video game.

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

S: Our songs are primarly written by myself (Marcus) and Odin, our guitarist.

The lyrics are often about nightlife, booze and having a good rage. Some songs are about belieivng in yourself and being who you want to be, some about unbridled ambition.

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

S: Mostly online through social media but we also go out to a lot of rock gigs in Sydney’s inner west and  often get talking and networking with other bands etc.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

S: The only stuff I download online is old 70’s prog rock that you can’t find anywhere else from blogspots where people have ripped their vinyl to digital files, I listen to new music on Spotify and YouTube. I do believe that if a bands song is downloaded as a file, they should be paid for it, Bandcamp is a good website for that.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

S: Porpoise Song by Carole King/The Monkees, it hits me for 6 everytime.

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

S: Getting your hair perfect and then it starts to rain.

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

S: Alice Cooper playing our first single on his radio show. Ron Peno of Died Pretty announced that he was my real father onstage once too.

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

S: More music, a horror themed music video and working out when to release our 6 Track EP that we have in the bag set for release in early 2021

PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?

S: We have our first single available to purchase from iTunes or stream on Spotify and YouTube and our new single is out on October 16 and will be available on all digital platforms.
