Interview with Kieran McIntyre of Spin Klass and Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of Band are you?
KM: We’re a fun, three piece that can fit in one car with all the gear
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
KM: We’ve played together in different bands before and formed just towards the end of lockdown and made an album before doing any gigs (incase there was no gigs)
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences
KM: Giorgio Moroder, David Lynch, Dave Greenfield, The Motors, Limmy and Blind Boy
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
KM: I’d just like to have a house by a canal with a wife and a dog and maybe some kids
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
KM: I write most of the songs. They’re mostly based on small things like cats or something I’ve seen on twitter but then as I write, they suddenly have a lot more personal meaning to me
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
KM: Chris does most of the promotion. Not sure how he does it really but he seems to do a splendid job
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
KM: Not much really. I’ve downloaded one led zeplin song my whole life. I miss CDs and romanticise over vinyl but convenience wins every time
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
KM: Space – Ballard For Space Lovers. It’s got a lovely romantic space disco vibe that really gets me and I’d love to write something half as good
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
KM: I really hate it when people mix two words together like Brexit and Brangelina. People do it with anything these days and it’s really boring and it’s dumbing down our society
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
KM: Releasing our first album
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
KM: We’ve just finished an EP that’ll be out soon and we’re organising a little tour to promote it
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
KM: We have our first album and some singles available on Spotify and iTunes and what have you
