Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
S: We are a four people band Ric (vocals/bass), Marcello (guitar), Riccardo (Drums), Marco (Guitar).
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
S: The band started around 2014, basically from the ashes of another band called Edema.
We started rehearsing songs from Foo Fighters and Alice In Chains, but soon we tried to right our own songs that turned in our first EP. From that moment we tried to play as many gigs as possible.
After that we recorded our first album by ourself (like the other records we’ve done) that allowed us to start travelling Europe.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
S: We are huge fans of all the grunge Era but also of modern stuff from electronic to ambient music, mostly dark.
Other than music we let ourself be inspired by movies and landscapes both for the instrumentals and the lyrics.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
S: Our aim is always improving ourselves starting from playing small concerts to support great acts, make an album/single that will get us remembered. Easy stuff right?
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
S: The writers in the band are mostly Marcello (Guitar) and Ric (Vox/Bass). We usually start with an idea recorded at home and finish the song all together.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
S: We try to make the most out of social networks like FB, IG and Youtube with dedicated graphic artworks and videos to promote every single step of our musical path (gigs, tracks, videoclips etc).
But being totally honest, we aren’t exactly the kind of “social media guys”.. but that’s today’s way, right?
Just to make an example, our last song (Trendsetter) is all about the “wrong” use of social medias 😊
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
S: It’s cool because it allows to get to know a lot of Artists/bands in a way that previously didn’t exist, but if we’re speaking about streaming services everyone can agree with the fact the the rate per listen is very(too) low.. and music is everyday more like an “hobby” rather than a profession.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
S: Just any song from the album Superunknown from Soundgarden (Ric), maybe “4th July” in particular because it’s just so HEAVY, also Chris Cornell voice lines are unbeatable.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
S: We like to think that has yet to come 😉
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
S: We have 6/8 songs ready to be finished, we’re still thinking about releasing an album or continuing with singles. We’re still trying to figure out the best strategy.
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
S: Here you go mate:
you can search us also on the main music resellers like amazon, apple music, tidal, deezer and so on 😊
Thank you so much for giving us the chance to talk about our project!
