No Escape No Excuse was released on Feb 15th 2019

Swedish metallic hardcore band SNAKE TONGUE have teamed up with Svbterranean to reveal their video for “Corrupted Beat”. The song is taken from their upcoming EP No Escape No Excuse which will be released via The Sign Records.

Snake Tongue didn’t spare any brutality on their upcoming four-track EP No Escape – No Excuse, a much more raw and crude recording done by Seth Norder (Witchery, Nekrokraft).  Following the release of their debut full length Raptor’s Breath, Snake Tongue has played countless shows, toured Europe and Mexico, and shared stages with bands as Massacre68, Doomriders, Coliseum, All Pigs Must Die, and more.

With the No Escape – No Excuse EP, the band wanted to have a rougher and dirtier sound than the quite polished Raptor’s Breath. They entered the studio with Seth Norder as producer to get the right darkness, and Brad Boatright (Audiosiege) did the mastering. The dark and harsh lyrics of the EP reflects a society in decline, but also call for action, resistance, and reflection. No Escape – No Excuse is set to release February 15th, 2019 by The Sign Records in digital and vinyl formats.

About Snake Tongue
In a world where the darkest sides of humanity rear their ugly heads again and again, there is no escape and no excuse. We are ”at fault like all the rest.”  Snake Tongue does not point fingers; we are all a part of what goes on around us, one way or another. Stand by, march along, or choose a different path. Emerged in the ashes of Linköping’s hardcore scene, Snake Tongue sets out to mix things up, melting together the pulse from punk and hardcore, the rotten breath of grindcore, and the bloody broken bones of metal.

The band had their live debut opening up for Doomriders and Coliseum, which led to an opportunity to have Kurt Ballou (GodCity, Converge) mix their 2016 debut album Raptors Breath (recorded by Ulf Blomberg of HoboRec and released by The Sign Records). With Snake Tongue’s ambition to blend all kinds of extreme music into one entity, it also opened up chances to play with different types of bands — which gained them a broad following in the  hardcore, punk, and metal scenes.  During 2016, Snake Tongue toured Sweden and mainland Europe with shows in Czech Republic and Slovakia as highlights.

Lineup changes and touring left a tight knit group with a common focus and goal.  Says the band,
“There are unwritten rules in music and invisible lines that people are afraid to cross.  Repeated trends come and go, like in the mainstream music and society.  Also, people tend to like their d-beat served in a certain way; they don’t like ‘this’ and they for sure don’t like ‘that.’  Sometimes conservative, comes to mind when thinking of how it all works out.  Snake Tongue never liked rules and Snake Tongue don’t care.  There are no rules and music should be creative.  Music should touch feelings and stimulate new thoughts, and music should be challenging. It should also lead to meeting new people and experience new parts of the world.”

Following the lineup changes, Snake Tongue took a short tour in 2017 with legendary Mexican punk band Massacre68, which led to deep friendship and a possibility to play in Mexico in the future.

With their upcoming No Escape – No Excuse EP, the band wanted to have a rougher and dirtier sound than the quite polished Raptor’s Breath. They entered the studio with Seth Norder as producer to get the right darkness, and Brad Boatright (Audiosiege) did the mastering. The dark and harsh lyrics of the EP reflects a society in decline, but also call for action, resistance, and reflection.

Snake Tongue offers no answers but challenges listeners to take responsibility and strive for a better world for all.  In today’s world, there’s no escape and no excuse — and Snake Tongue is the soundtrack.
